History and Background

The history of Akhila Jewellery is deeply rooted in tradition and family legacy:

• Early 1900s - The Beginning : The story starts with Mr. Bangaru Chettiar, who was not only a farmer but also served as the first municipal chairman of Allinagaram. Besides his responsibilities, he ran a textile business and also made traditional Thalli (a type of necklace) and Gundu-mani (a type of beadwork) for weddings. This indicates the family as early involvement in both business and craftsmanship.
• Early 1900s - The Beginning : Mr. Rajagopal Chettiar, the son of Mr. Bangaru Chettiar, took the family as entrepreneurial spirit forward by starting his own jewellery shop on Madurai Road. This marked the official beginning of Akhila Jewellery, building upon the foundation laid by his father.
